The following policies are intended to provide a safe and enjoyable camping experience for all of our guests. Violators will be asked to leave the campground without refund. Hersheypark Camping Resort reserves the right to revise these rules at any time.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages are restricted to the campsite for those 21 or older.


Firewood Transportation Prohibited: The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has issued a notice prohibiting the movement of all species of firewood into the State, effective immediately. This quarantine has been issued because of the threat posed by various wood-feeding insects, including Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), Asian Longhorned Beetle, Sirex Wood Wasp, and bark beetles that are considered threats to Pennsylvania's forest, horticultural and recreational resources. PLEASE help us and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture by not transporting firewood into Pennsylvania. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Fireworks & Weapons

Fireworks (including sparklers), firecrackers, explosives, firearms or weapons of any kind are not permitted.

Is the campground open year-round?

Yes, the campground is open all year!
Please note, the water is turned off from approximately mid-October through mid-April. Any guest booking a deluxe cabin in the Midway Meadow or Pioneer Heights section during this time will be supplied with a 5 gallon water jug with pour spout. Our main bath house, located at the registration barn will be open and available to guests during this time frame. Two bedroom deluxe cabins are not impacted by the water shut off.

Is there a fee for day guests?

Day guests visiting Hersheypark Camping Resort will be charged a $6 fee for each day guest. Day guests are authorized to visit from 8 AM - 11 PM. A wristband will be provided at the desk once provided a reservation affiliation. Day guest passes are only available if a friend or family member has a reservation on that day for the Hersheypark Camping Resort. The reservation holder must be present at the time of the notice.

Is there running water on the campsite year round?

The water is turned off from mid-October through mid-April.


Pets are permitted on the property, but not in any of the tents, cabins, or buildings – including pavilions, restrooms, or pool area. Thus, tent campers and cabin guests should not bring pets. Pets must always be supervised and kept on a leash not to exceed 6 feet. They cannot pose a disturbance or danger to other campers and owners are expected to clean up after their pets.

If you are visiting Hersheypark, consider using their daily kennel, The Barking Lot. There is a fee associated and the hours for The Barking Lot coincide with the hours for Hersheypark. If utilizing the shuttle service from the campground to Hersheypark, a carrier case is required. Learn more about the Barking Lot

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are from 11 PM - 8 AM. Generators, diesel engines or bright exterior lighting may not operate during the quiet hours. Playgrounds close at 9 PM in-season and at dusk during the off season. No loud music, excessive noise, or disorderly conduct will be tolerated.


Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas, but prohibited in cabins, buildings, restrooms, and the pool area.

Tables and Fire Rings

Picnic tables and fire rings with grates are located throughout the campground. Please do not move any of the tables or fire rings. Only charcoal or wood should be burned in the fire ring and campfires are not to exceed one foot high. Please also clean out the fire ring before departing.

Theft & Loss

Campers are responsible for securing their personal property, including, but not limited to, their campers and contents, vehicles, tents, or any other personal property. The campground, its owner, agents, and employees are not responsible or liable for theft or loss of any kind, nor damage caused by acts of God, fires, floods, windstorms, explosions, lightning strikes, accidents, or vandalism. Campers are responsible for maintaining insurance on their campers, vehicles, and personal property.


To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, the Hersheypark Camping Resort strictly prohibits the operation of or use of any unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as "Drones," on, from, or above the Hersheypark Camping Resort premises without specific written permission from an official of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. This includes all UAVs regardless of size, weight, or purpose.


For the safety of children at play, the speed limit throughout the campground is 5 1/2 mph. No motor bikes are permitted (unless disabled or only means of transportation). No hoverboards. Vehicle washing is not permitted. Unlicensed motorized vehicles and scooters are not permitted in the campground. Golf carts are not allowed except for guests with disabilities.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 24 hours of booking are without penalty, cancellations after 24 hours of booking, up to 10 days prior to the arrival date result in a $13.00 processing fee, and all cancellations within 10 days of the reservation's arrival date will result in forfeiting the first night's deposit.

What privileges do day guests have?

Day guests visiting Hersheypark Camping Resort are only permitted to have vehicles on property from 8 AM - 11 PM. Day guests will have access to all activities on the property and include use of the swimming pools. Day guest passes are only available if a friend or family member has a reservation on that day for the Hersheypark Camping Resort.
